TOM & ANDREA
We are Tom and Andrea Bialoblocki, the owners, handlers and trainers of Punkin' Head dogues and are active members in the Dogue de Bordeaux Society of America as well as two of the eight founding members. We are members in good standing of the DDBSA and past members of the following organizations: Societe des Amateurs de Dogues de Bordeaux SADB, New Brunswick Kennel Club NBKC, Bordeaux Fanciers of Canada BFC and Owner Handlers Association OHA

Tom, one of the very first BOD of the DDBS, was the elected President (2000-2003) and was also a BOD and stood in as Vice President from 2003-2006. Tom was the Working Ability Show Coordinator and Awards Coordinator while he served, and I am the three time elected Corresponding Secretary. I am currently the Newsletter Editor, Website Organizer, and one of the National Conformation Show Coordinators. The National Show is the largest show in the Nation for the breed. We are both highly active in the Dogue de Bordeaux Rescue of the DDBSA also.

I have written, researched, and published articles on the breed such as "The Dogue de Bordeaux" which was featured in the AcmePet website and in the Dogue de Bordeaux issue of the Rare Insight, and first published in The Rare Mastiff. Also I have written "Feeding the Dogue" published in the (Bi)Monthly Slobber, the DDBSA newsletter, and I supply club news to various publications. I am also a UKC licensed senior judge of Dogue de Bordeaux. I have judged the DDBS National Brace class and in October 2000 I judged the DDBS NC Regional in Paris, Canada with an entry of 22 dogues, and the Best of Breed Regional Event at the 2004 DDBSA National Weekend in Henderson, NV.

We can also boast well known names in our lineage, including Basco de l'Etang de Mirloup, Belmondo the Red Powerpack, Bull de l'Etang de Mirloup, Mylord II de la Maison des Arbres N'Agor de la Maison des Coqs, N'Hems du Domaine des Sources, Oscar van Alcarnique, Saga du Domaine des Sources, Sic de Fenelon, Tenor, Vervine, and many many more. We can provide nine + generations of pedigree on our dogs

Yet we are most proud of what our dogs have accomplished with us, the championships and beautiful pups we have created, and it is all due to the lines we have and the combinations we make. All of our dogs are registered with the AKC, as well as all our puppies. We use AKC exclusively (although if a potential show home is interested in showing UKC, we can also register pups with the UKC). All our dogs are microchipped with the AVID microchip and all puppies are chipped prior to going to their new homes.

OUR BELIEFS, ASPIRATIONS, AND HOPES
We make all attempts to have our show dogs shown in conformation, temperament tested, core health screened (cardiac and orthopedics). All pups, regardless of show prospects or pets, have a written contract and health guarantee that you receive when a new owner accepts their puppy. All puppies are registered AKC, regardless of show or pet. Pet puppies will have AKC Limited registration. We do not believe in shipping pups, we will only sell or place our dogs in homes will travel to our home by car or fly to our house to pick up their pup and be open to our visitations.

We are NOT a kennel, we are NOT a backyard breeder, we are NOT professional breeders - we are dedicated small owner/breeders of this wonderful breed. Our dogs live in the house with us. Pups are raised in the house by their momma and their "surrogate mommas" (anyone of the dogs who looks over the whelping box and is interested) who teach them how to play and have a good time! We also crate train and begin housebreaking the pups. Pups are well socialized with dogs, cats, and people.

Our dogs are active and retired show dogs and we have also had a few rescues in our time (all since have passed on), and unlike many "big breeders" our dogs are house dogs. They do not live in a kennel or outside. You will never see pictures of our dogs taken in dog houses and outside kennels where they live. We suggest that regardless if you are looking for a show prospect or a pet dog, you should refer to ACTIVE show homes, because people who take the time and effort to actively show their stock are striving to meet the breed standard and work with their colleagues and peers to strive for good quality and type of dog. They recognize their dogs’ faults and place/sell dogs appropriately.

WHERE HAVE OUR DOGS BEEN SEEN AND ARE THEY 'WINNERS'?
Our dogs have been seen in Dog Fancy (Dec '97, Aug '08), Prof. Raymond Triquets book, La Saga du Dogue de Bordeaux (French version) and Joseph Janis' book "The Dogue de Bordeaux" published in the UK and USA, as well as many, many colanders published by Brown Trout, Pet Prints, Avonside Publishing, etc.

The now famous image of the Dogue de Bordeaux on the rock is of our own Hudsan, which has been featured in books, watercolors, on items like mirrors and more recently, for a second time, full page spread in Dog Fancy. One of our best dogs from Canada, MyVeryOwn Marvelous Monkey, (blackmask) was also on a cover of calander a few years ago!

Our dogs and produce has won shows across the USA and in Canada (including multiple Best in Show wins by Alyce, most notable her DDBSA National show BIS, the first and until 2008, the ONLY female to ever win the show, Best in Show by Monkey in Canada, Best in Show by U-Gene in the USA, BIS Misc. class to Maggie in 2007, and 3rd place Open Male to U-Gene at the Canadian DDB club show in 2007), as well as receiving excellent ratings and placing in the French National Show 1998 (Noodles) and 2000 (Alyce 4th place open female).

SO THAT MEANS...
I know professional photographers (Close Encounters of the Furry Kind) that take photos of my dogs, my friends dogs, etc. and they submit them to magazines - THAT IS IT! Claims like this will not guarantee you a good, healthy dog! Many people can claim to be the first to do many things or claim to have their dogs in movies and on tv, and a frequent phrase in advertisements is "champion lines" and many claim to own "winners" when the dogs only competed against themselves or young puppies in shows. We boast about the shows we do well in with COMPETIOTION that is not our own dogs! Investigate before you purchase! Just because a dog is a champion, was in a movie, or any other claims, does not guarantee a good dog and support throughout the life of that dog. It is hard to know if a dog is going to be healthy or not - but a good, responsible, ethical breeder will be with you through thick and thin. They will be there to support you no matter what happens with your dog and will stand by their contracts and word.

We are proud of our accomplishments, but we won't sell you a dog based on "champion lines" or television or book appearances - or just to make some money off our dogs. Our dogs are our family. We find compatible homes for our pups where they will benefit the most, and we keep in touch through out the life of the dog. We don't "sell 'em and forget 'em" like many "breeders" in the USA do. When you choose a Punkin' Head dog, Punkin' Head must in turn choose you, and we will be with you for the life of your dog. We personally feel that we created these lives, we are responsible for them no matter what.

PUPPY PRICES AND FEES
We are not at all like the "big breeders" - the two main differences are our dogs our house dogs and we don't have a large "supply" of females and puppies. We have been around since 1995 and have had only five litters in our home, assisted with a litter in an owners home, and studded our males only four times (Levon three times and U-Gene once as of July 08). There is a waiting list for puppies from us.

To be put on that waiting list, please print out our contract sample and review closely, then print out our questionaire (originated by a colleague in the breed and customized for our own use.), fill in and send to us. If we find it acceptable we notify you that you will be put in our waiting list and we will start to build a communication relationship with you, and when one of our girls is expecting we will let you know. Once someone is expecting, we will require a non-refundable deposit of $500.

Pet Quality puppies have a strict spay/neuter agreement. Pet Quality is determined on how the puppy stacks up to the breed standard, not on health. Show quality puppies, which are required to be shown, temperament tested and health screened prior to be bred. We do not sell or place "breed quality dogs." If a dog is not good enough to be shown, it is not good enough to be bred.

If you are interested in a stud service, please print out stud service agreement sample and carefully read. We are very particular on the quality of females we will breed to. We do not breed to everyone that has a "dog in heat." After reading our stud service agreement, if your girl meets all or some of our requirements, please email us to discuss it further.

ALWAYS REMEMBER
No matter who you chose to get a Dogue de Bordeaux from, always insist on a SEE THE PARENTS AND PUPPIES IN PERSON IF POSSIBLE! ASK TO SEE HEALTH AND TEMPRAMENT TEST CERTIFICATION! MAKE SURE YOU GET A WRITTEN CONTRACT AND/OR HEALTH GURANTEE - PRIOR TO RECEIVING YOUR DOG! I can not stress these points enough to every possible new owner of a Dogue de Bordeaux and even to current owners looking to make their family larger. Please do not trust "papers to be sent later" - we have seen too many friends and colleagues hearts broken over sick puppies with no contracts. Please take your time and choose your breeder wisely. Also Please consider a rescue as well, in 2008 over 50 rescue Dogues de Bordeaux were received by the DDBSA and other rescue organizations (not individuals) combined - this does not include dogues in shelters that we did not know about! I am also available to assist with rescue and rescue questions.
